LOCATION:
Campton Campground is located 2.0 miles east of Interstate Highway
93, Exit 28, on the Mad River Road (NH Route 49)

NARRATIVE:
Campton Campground is a developed recreation area administered
by the USDA Forest Service. A fee is charged for the use of this
area and is collected through a self service pay system. The area
is divided into two sections and offers a variety of campers experiences
for both family and group campers alike.
It is conveniently located near Interstate Highway 93 and is the
first National Forest campground to be reached coming north. A variety
of recreation opportunities exist nearby which include; swimming,
fishing, picnicking, hiking, bicycling, pleasure driving, horseback
riding and canoeing. Interpretive nature programs are also offered
each Saturday evening from late June through Labor Day.
Campton
Family Area has 58 individual sites which are heavily wooded with
towering White Pines. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, tent
pad and turnout for parking. Parking space is available for trailers
and motorhomes at various sites. Water electrical and sewage connections
are NOT provided. There are three restrooms each with flush toilets
and sinks. Faucets are scattered throughout the campground providing
drinking water. Concessionaire maintained showers are also available
(coin operated). A play area provides an area for a variety of activities.
