Tripoli road4

LOCATION:
Tripoli Road, Exit 31 off I-93.

NARRATIVE:
The Tripoli Road Dispersed Camping Area offers a rustic, roadside, camping experience with no amenities. There are no formally developed sites, no potable water sources, and no fire rings or restroom facilities.

Campground permits available. To monitor the number of roadside campers and to protect this popular place from resource damage, a concessionaire manages the area. The concessionaire sells Tripoli Road camping permits and dispenses information on area regulations. Fees are applied per vehicle, and vary depending on whether it is a weekday, weekend, or holiday period. A percentage of the concessionaire's receipts are returned to the Forest Service to help defray the rehabilitation and law enforcement costs.

A limited number of permits are issued from Memorial Day through Columbus Day at the concessionaire booth on Tripoli Road near the Russell Pond Campground Road. The area covered by the permit system includes Tripoli Road from the junction of Russell Pond Campground Road to Osceola Vista Campground and all adjacent, ungated spur roads and parking lots. Dispersed Camping Permits are required between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM and are not valid in "Forest Protection Areas" where parking is prohibited.

FEE PILOT AREA:
Unattended vehicles parked in a designated US Fee Area need to display a White Mountain National Forest parking pass. For example if you park in a trail head parking lot to go hiking, a parking pass is necessary. You may obtain a pass at a Forest Service office, from numerous local vendors, or by mail. Ask the Tripoli Road concessionaire any questions you may have about the parking pass.

PRACTICE LOW IMPACT CAMPING - LEAVE NO TRACE -
